Karl Marx was born on May 5th 1818, in the city of Trier, Germany. Marx, as a seventeen year old, went to the University of Bonn to major in Law. While Marx was still in school he became engaged to a woman named Jenny Von Westphalen. Jenny’s father, Baron Von Westphalen, gave him ideas to research and get involved with Romantic Literature and Saint-Simonian politics, not much later Marx had relocated by his own father to the University of Berlin where he studied Hegelianism influenced by Ludwig Ferbach and many other Hegelians.
